Pete Townshend's Smashed Concert Strat Can Be Yours!

LONG LIVE ROCK!!! Through Sunday you can bid on the splintered pieces of a 1964 Sonic Blue Fender Stratocaster, shattered in concert by one of the most famous axe destroyers in rock, Pete Townshend of The Who.

It was smashed during a 1967 Who concert at the Long Island Arena in Commack, NY on December 1, 1967. According to Guitar World, the guitar comes with a handwritten, 2-page letter from the original owner—who  reportedly caught the pieces of the guitar at the show that night—the ticket stub from the show and 2 aluminum engraved plaques.

You can use your tax refund to start bidding now through Sunday April 15th at Heritage Auctions.
