Former 1980’s heart throb Jan Michael Vincent has died of cardiac arrest at the age of 74. TMZ.com reported that he actually died February 10th according to the death certificate. In the 1980’s he was said to be the highest paid actor on TV, earning $200 thousand an episode as helicopter pilot Stringfellow Hawke on the hit show “Airwolf.” However, the series only ran a few seasons, in part because of drug and alcohol problems that he would struggle with for the rest of his life.
”Airwolf” was great but let’s not forget his portrayal of a meditating, hippy, Marine recruit in the movie “Tribes.”
