CCR's Full Woodstock Set Will Finally Get Released

50 years after the historic "Woodstock Music and Art Fair" took place in upstate New York, out of the archives comes a previously, unreleased set. Creedence Clearwater Revival was scheduled to take the stage on Night Two, sandwiched in between the Grateful Dead and Janis Joplin. The Dead's set ran long (along with a host of other scheduling and technical issues that weekend). John Fogerty and co. didn't end up on stage until after 12:30a Sunday Morning. They were put off by this and the "sleepy" state of the crowd, resulting in what they considered to be a lackluster performance.

CCR refused to have their set used, on what would become a #1 soundtrack album that Summer as well as the footage used for the Concert Film. There was a 1994 commemorative reissue with 4 of the tracks however. I guess Fogerty has had a change of heart with the Golden Anniversary approaching soon. This August 2nd, fans will get Live at Woodstock , the full 11 songs from CCR's set on Aug. 16, 1969 for the first time ever. It will be out on CD and as a digital download, as well as a two-LP vinyl set Listen to a preview below of the set's opening number.
