Blumhouse Productions/Columbia Pictures have rebooted "Fantasy Island" for an upcoming, original film release. This next gen. version looks way darker than the T.V. Series which ran on ABC from 1977-1984. In the original incarnation, visitors to the mystical Island would live out their "fantasies" and typically learn some important life lesson by the end of the episode. Guests were greeted by your charming Host "Mr. Roarke", played by Ricardo Montalban and his omnipresent assistant "Tattoo" (Hervé Villechaizeas).
This time around, Michael Peña is cast in the lead role. You may have seen him as 'Frank “Ponch” Poncherello' in the CHiPs remake in 2017. After watching this trailer I have to say I'm intrigued. Things look to take a dark turn (or three) for the Island's latest guests." Fantasy Island" opens on Feb. 14, 2020.
