Bruce Springsteen's Son Sworn In As New Jersey Firefighter

In 1985, Bruce Springsteen sang, "I'm On Fire," today his 26 year old son Sam, was sworn in as a firefighter to put the flames of New Jersey out.

Sam Springsteen became a member of the Jersey City Fire Department after graduating from the Monmouth County Fire Academy in 2016 and being a volunteer for three different departments before landing the full time gig.

The proud parents, Bruce Springsteen and Patti Scialfa were there for the big day but kept a low profile. Bruce told ABC7 in New York, "This is my son’s day, so I’m staying out of it. We’re very proud. We’re very proud. ... It was a long road. He was very dedicated for quite a few years, and we’re just excited for him today.”

Look at Bruce and Patti beaming! Congratulations Sam!
