Eddie Van Halen was a Guitar God who first grabbed the world's attention with his insane guitar solo on the song, "Eruption," from Van Halen's debut album. As the lead in to Van Halen's first single, "You Really Got Me," it's widely considered one of the best solos in rock history, with Eddie finger tapping on his trademark "Frankenstrat," guitar. He came up with sounds we never heard before.
Just in time for Thanksgiving, Mayflower Brewing from Plymouth has come out with a beer to honor the guitar hero from California. "Eruption" is a West coast IPA they describe as gold and clear. "Kettle additions of Warrior, Simcoe & Chinook provide a present but refined bitterness, and the beer is lightly dry hopped with Citra. We taste and smell pine, grapefruit, tangerine and citrus."
And, the can is designed to look like Eddie's Frankenstrat! It just went on sale at noon in their taproom, you can pick some up to go, and wash down that dry turkey with the nectar of the Gods!
