Watch Gene Simmons Go Into Crowd to Confront Heckler at Rhode Island Show

Kiss co-founder Gene Simmons left the stage to confront a heckler last week at a Providence, Rhode Island, show.

Simmons was in town attending the Rock Island Comic Con. During an intermission of his show, a local city councilman joined Simmons on stage to present him with a key to the city.

That's when the heckler, asked loudly "Is this a f---ing joke?"

Later the man said "Shut up and play your guitar" and "I didn't pay to see a politician." Then finally, "Ace is better than this!"

Once Simmons had had enough, he demanded the venue turn on the house lights.

"I wanna see where this jackass is," he said before handing his bass to the councilman and going into the crowd.

Ultimate Classic Rock reports Simmons wound up in the lobby and spoke to the heckler.

Following the encounter, Simmons returned to the stage and completed his set without incident.
