Runners, brought in in wheelchairs, soaked and shivering with goosebumps and desperate to get warm. Its a challenging day for Boston Emergency Medical Services.
Boston EMS Chief Jim Hooley says crews were handling it.
Heated charted school busest were picking up runners who dropped out of the race. Medical crews were able to quickly triage those who needed to be seen by medical personel.
According to Boston EMS as of 4:53PM 18 people were transported to local hospital related to weather conditions.
