Man Arrested For Attempting Kidnapping in Bridgewater

BRIDGEWATER, MA (WBZ-AM) -- A Bridgewater man is behind bars for allegedly attempting to kidnap a woman who was jogging.

Police say that the incident happened Sunday morning around 7:35 a.m. Police say they received multiple 9-1-1 calls saying that a female jogger was just assaulted by a man on Pleasant Street.

Gordon Lyons of Bridgewater was arrested and charged with Kidnapping indecent assault and battery on a Person Age 14 or Older Assault and Battery

Police have released surveillance video from a nearby business \showing a car stopping on Pleasant street and a man getting out of his car and grabbing a woman. There is a struggle and both tumble to the ground the man runs back into the vehicle and speeds off.

Police say the woman jogger was able to scream and fight off Lyons and take a photo of the car Lyons was driving in as it sped away.

They also say Lyons was involved in a car accident on the northbound side of Route 24 in West Bridgewater where he was injured,

 He is currently at Boston Medical Center where he's being held without bail pending his arraignment.
