Apparently, no one told the sharks that hang out near the Massachusetts shore that Shark Week is officially over. Sharks have been grabbing local headlines this week, after multiple sightings prompted beach closings along the Bay State’s shoreline.
This latest sighting is the scariest of late, though. A video, shared by the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy, based in Cape Cod, shows a white shark plunging out of the water towards researcher John J. King II.
The conservancy says that they’ve seen similar “breaching” and have received multiple reports of like activity from local fishermen and boaters. While they say that these kinds of encounters are rare, the video shows that they’re certainly possible. So, always be aware when you're out on the water.
