People Found Living in Boston Storage Unit

BOSTON, MA (WBZ-AM) -- An investigation is underway after several people were found living in units at a storage facility in Boston's South End .

Officials shut down a south end storage facility after finding that people were illegally "living" in some of the units -- for a couple of hundred dollars a month.

Police say the inspectional services department and other city workers went to  Cube Smart Self-Storage" on Tuesday . 

When they arrived -- they found that not only were several units being used as living quarters -- but some were outfitted with furniture -- curtains --- food and electric cords.

According to officials -- the living conditions were deemed unsafe -- and the facility was shut down.

Officials say living in a place not designated for residential use is illegal.
