When Kevin Smith suffered a severe heart attack six months ago, the Mallrats director embraced a number of lifestyle changes to get his weight under control.
By following a strict plant-based diet, inspired by his son's veganism, Smith has been shedding pounds despite his "hate" of vegetables.
"Six months ago from right now, I was in the hospital recovering from a heart attack I'd had the night before," Smith wrote on Instagram Sunday (Aug. 26). "Half a year later, I can report that I followed Doctor's orders: I started at 256 and now I weigh 205. This is the lightest I've been since high school!"
The filmmaker still plans to lose another 10 pounds to reach his "birth weight" of 195.
