WEYMOUTH (WBZ-AM) -- The widow of a Weymouth Police sergeant unleashed a string of profanities at the man accused of killing her husband as the suspect was being led out of court Thursday.

Emmanuel Lopes, 20, is accused of hitting Sgt. Michael Chesna with a rock, and then taking his gun and shooting him back in July. He faces eleven indictments, including two murder counts. At an appearance in Weymouth Superior Court, Lopes was ordered held without bail and was led from the courtroom in shackles--but on his way out, Sgt. Chesna's widow, Cindy, screamed profanities at him.

Lopes is also charged with the killing of 77-year-old Vera Adams, who was in her home when she was shot.

Defense Attorney Larry Tipton says his client has mental health issues.

"He's talking nonsense, he's erratic," Tipton said. "He's denying hallucinations, but talking to people who aren't there. He's agitated."
