BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- Like Game One of the division series and Game One of the championship series, Game One of the World Series will be a battle of two of baseball's finest pitchers as Chris Sale squares off tonight against Clayton Kershaw to christen the 114th Fall Classic.

For Kershaw, it's the first time the Dodgers lefty has ever pitched at Fenway Park--which is the only stadium in the majors he hasn't pitched in to this point in his career.

As you may have heard, he went right to Jersey Street when the Dodgers arrived in town Sunday night for a bullpen session--but he didn't seem too blown away by Boston's baseball cathedral.

"I appreciate the history and everything that goes along with Fenway Park, and I can check this one off as far as pitching tomorrow, but I don't really think about the history part of it too much, honestly," he said. "I don't take too much stock in it."

Now, take Chris Sale for instance--he's got a different perspective of Fenway, but then again, Boston's lefty  has been on the mound at Fenway with a crowd to perform in front of.

"It's gonna be rockin'," Sale said. "This place is gonna be obviously going crazy. We have very passionate fans, and it's going to be fun. I think we've all been waiting for this, and our fans too. Our fans have been there the whole year, just like we've been grinding the whole year, and they've been showing up for us, and I think they're just as excited as we are. I don't doubt this place is gonna be getting up and going tomorrow night."

So far in Game Ones this postseason for Sale, he's 12-4 this season and 2-4 at Fenway. Kershaw is 2-1 this fall, 9-5 in 2018. We'll find out how well he pitches in Fenway just after 8 p.m. tonight.
