WALTHAM, Mass (WBZ NewsRadio) — The future is here and it's quite creepy.
New video from Waltham based robotics company Boston Dynamics shows 10 of their four-legged SpotMini robots hauling a box truck in neutral across the parking lot.
In unison -- the bright yellow mechanical machines look like a pack of real-life dogs without heads — similar to the annual Iditarod Race.
The company describes the SpotMini as "a small four-legged robot that comfortably fits in an office or home."
Weighing nearly 66 lbs, the battery-powered robot can go about 90 minutes on a charge depending on activity. It can carry items up to 31 lbs and has a number of cameras so it can see.
The company announced that these robots are coming off the production line and will be available for "for a range of applications soon.”
