Nashua Dog Competing In Animal Planet's Puppy Bowl

NASHUA, N.H. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A puppy from Nashua is set to compete in Sunday's Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet.

The 7-month-old Golden Retriever Labrador mix, Lilah, will be a second-stringer during the event. The puppy's mother was one of the 105 dogs rescued from a Bradford kennel last year after police said they were found in "squalid living conditions."

The Puppy Bowl features puppies and kittens that are up for adoption. According to Animal Planet, 100 percent of the animals that participate are adopted.

"Animal Planet continues this tradition this year with a new set of adorable animals that are ready to tumble and fumble into their new homes across the nation," the network said in a statement.

The Puppy Bowl will air at 3 p.m. on Sunday, February 2nd, the same day as the Super Bowl.
