Patriots, Cam Newton Reach One-Year Deal

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — The New England Patriots have reached an agreement on a one-year deal with former MVP Cam Newton, according to ESPN.

He is one of several quarterbacks in the running to replace Tom Brady.

Newton was released from the Carolina Panthers after being slowed by injuries over the past several years. He missed much of last season with a foot injury.

Newton was named the NFL MVP in 2015 after leading the Panthers to the Super Bowl.
