Cape Cod Prepares For The 4th Of July

CAPE COD, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Officials are cautiously optimistic that people will celebrate the Fourth of July safely.

Senator Julian Cyr said it's going to be up to personal responsibility, because they don't have the capacity to enforce guidelines on a mass scale.

"Large groupings of people outside, who are not wearing masks, are not following the governor's orders, that's putting people at risk," Cyr said. "I actually think that the strongest enforcement that we have is other people."

Cyr said the reason they've been able to reopen is because of the hard work by locals to reduce the spread.
