WHITMAN, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Those looking to beat the summer heat with Peaceful Meadows ice cream will have to wait, at least at their Whitman location.
The business announced they closed their operations after learning that an employee tested positive for COVID-19.
Whitman Town Administrator Frank Lynam told WBZ NewsRadio's Chris Fama three part-time employees have tested positive for coronavirus, and it's possible they were infected and on-duty before they experienced symptoms.
"I would assume that at some point in time, during their work cycle, preceding the time they were tested, there's really no way of knowing," Lynam said.
Lynam said that all employees are required to wear masks and gloves at all times. Now, the businesses will undergo a deep cleaning before reopening.
Peaceful Meadows plan to reopen August 12.
