BROCKTON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) – A new classic car garage is looking to provide a space for vintage vehicle enthusiasts.

Brothers Ted and Ben Resnikoff are planning to open Abe’s Garage, named after the brothers’ grandfather, in Brockton at the beginning of October.

The idea for the garage first came to the Resnikoffs when Ted started keeping his car in a private garage and the owners lost his keys.

“When you think about car storage, you only have one job,” he said. “Don’t lose the keys.”

The brothers then decided to open their own garage where classic car owners could keep their collections safe, their keys in their own pockets and take their cars out at their own leisure.

The Resnikoffs are also hoping that the garage will become a spot for car lovers to get together and build a community. Ted said they plan on putting in “a racing simulator and a library and a big screen TV to watch racing."

While Ted is hoping to open the doors soon, he said the classic car community has been ready for the garage to open.

“They’ve been coming for three years now saying, ‘what’s going on? When’s it going to be open? We can’t wait,'" he said. “That’s just been terrific.”
