At Topsfield Fair, Man Sets Record With 2,294-Pound Pumpkin

TOPSFIELD, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — The winner of the Topsfield Fair All New England Pumpkin Weigh-Off was announced on Friday—and the champion pumpkin proved to be quite massive.

Alex Noel, of Pomfret, Conn., took home the prize after his pumpkin weighed in at 2,294.5 pounds.

This is the heaviest pumpkin the fair has ever seen, according to WBZ-TV.

Noel won a prize of more than $8,000.

The All New England Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off was started in 1984, according to the fair's website. All entries must weigh at least 300 pounds.

The Topsfield Fair is also "home to the first one ton pumpkin ever grown in the world," according to their website.
