Bailey, Elizabeth Warren's Golden Retriever, Campaigns At Boston City Hall

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — It wasn't your regular campaign surrogate stumping for Sen. Elizabeth Warren at her Boston City Hall rally Wednesday.

Bailey, the Massachusetts senator and 2020 presidential candidate's Golden Retriever, gave lots of wet kisses and paw shakes, and got lots of belly rubs.

Supporters lined up to have their pictures taken with the pup, and one woman even brought him a squeaky toy.

The rally came just a few days before Massachusetts' March 3 primary. Last week, a UMass Lowell poll showed Warren and Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont neck-and-neck in Massachusetts ahead of the state's Super Tuesday contest, with Sanders having a slight lead.

Warren netted an endorsement from the Boston Globe Wednesday.

Several Boston City Councilors came out to meet Bailey, including Councilor Matt O'Malley.

"I'm supporting Elizabeth Warren for president because she's tough, because she's smart, and because she's kind," O'Malley said. "What a contrast that is with the person currently in the Oval Office who, despite claiming to be a stable genius, I think has led us to believe otherwise; despite saying that he's tough, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Vladimir Putin and the fossil fuel industry and the NRA."

O'Malley told candidates Warren was the best candidate to beat President Trump.

"We want to make sure this momentum continues, that she has a big win, so not only Elizabeth will be in the White House, but how great will it be when Bailey's in the White House?"
