BROCKTON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Ambulances returned to Brockton Hospital after Signature Healthcare lifted the Code Black status.
The hospital experienced a cybersecurity incident on April 6, which affected information systems within the facility, causing several procedures to be cancelled and ambulances to be diverted.
Signature Healthcare said it had lifted the status on Wednesday at 8 a.m., allowing ambulances to arrive and drop off patients once again. The hospital added that some systems have remained offline and should be restored over the next few days.
A Code Black status usually signifies a bomb threat in a hospital, but can also indicate a high-level security incident requiring law enforcement and safety protocols.
Signature Healthcare said it is still working with officials to investigate the incident.
