EVERETT, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — State Police made multiple arrests Sunday night at the Encore Boston Harbor resort and casino after fights broke out outside one of the casino’s clubs at closing time.

Between 2 and 3 a.m., a series of altercations resulted in troopers and Everett Police officers arresting two people, taking a third into protective custody, and issuing a court summons to a fourth person.

The first fight broke out just after 2 a.m. as the Memoire nightclub was closing and a large crowd was leaving. Officers had to call for backup, which included a K9 unit.

They arrested one member of the group, 29-year-old Shani Mohamed Abo of Everett. He was charged with assault, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest.

A few minutes later, officers responded to a second argument involving a Lynn man and two women in the hotel lobby.

Herby Charmant, 25, allegedly yelled at both of the women before pushing one of them and throwing her phone across the room. Charmant is also alleged to have touched one of the women inappropriately.

Charmant was charged with indecent assault and battery, assault and battery, lewd and lascivious behavior, and disorderly conduct.

Then, just before 2:30 a.m., State Troopers responded to a third fight on the gaming floor. A 26-year-old Lynn man allegedly involved will be summonsed to court for an assault and battery charge.

The last incident of the night, around 3 a.m., happened when a 32-year-old Lynn man who was intoxicated and continually yelling caught the attention of police. He was taken into protective custody.
