Gronk To Sign WWE Deal

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Former Patriots star Rob Gronkowski is apparently in "deep talks" with WWE, according to Wrestling Sheet's Editor-in-Chief Ryan Satin.

Although there's now word yet on the exact terms of the settlement, the former Pats tight end is unlikely to be a weekly regular for WWE. According to the report, Gronk could make his debut appearance as soon as March 20 at the Friday Night SmackDown in New Orleans.

If Gronkwoski does sign on with the pro wrestling promotion, it would not be his first time in the ring.

Gronk fought at WrestleMania 33 in 2017 alongside Mojo Rawley and Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

In August 2019 after leaving the NFL, Gronk mentioned he was interested in wrestling in the future.

"With wrestling, I don't feel like I would be a full-time wrestler," he told ESPN. "but there is one thing I'm down for, and that's to do one crazy match. Practice it for a bit, go out there - like in a Royal Rumble... I'm not saying when, maybe five years. I got the rest of my life to do that. I've always dreamed about doing that."
