List Of Cities And Towns With Snow Emergencies, Parking Bans

With a significant winter storm on our doorstep, many Massachusetts communities are declaring snow emergencies and parking bans ahead of the weekend. Check the list below to see which towns have announced theirs so far.

Andover: Public street parking ban starts Friday at 11:00 p.m. and runs indefinitely throughout the storm. Vehicles may be ticketed or towed after 11:00 p.m.

Arlington: Snow emergency and parking ban will start Saturday at 1:00 a.m. and be in place until further notice.

Beverly: Snow emergency and parking ban will go into effect Friday night at midnight. The ban is expected to be in place for at least 48 hours.

Boston: Snow emergency declared beginning Friday at 9:00 p.m. Parking ban will go info effect at 9:00 p.m. and all violators will be towed.

Bourne: Snow emergency and parking ban both effective at 8:00 p.m. Friday. A notification will be issued once they lifted. Vehicles may be ticketed or towed.

Braintree: Snow emergency effective starting Friday night at midnight and will until noon on Sunday. On street parking will not be allowed on any public road.

Brookline: Parking ban will go into effect at 6:00 a.m. on Saturday. End date/time has yet to be determined.

Cambridge: Snow emergency and parking ban will go into effect at 11:00 p.m. Friday night. Free parking is available at several off-street facilities starting at 6:00 p.m.

Exeter: Snow emergency and parking ban will start Saturday at 6:00 a.m. and stay in effect until Sunday at 8:00 a.m. The ban will be re-evaluated for changes if necessary.

Framingham: Snow emergency and parking ban will go into effect Saturday morning at 6:00 a.m. It will last until Monday at 6:00 a.m. Arterial roads are designated with posted red and white signs.

Franklin: Parking ban will go into effect at midnight and last until 7:00 a.m. on Sunday. Vehicles left on the road will be subject to tow.

Hampton: Winter emergency and parking ban will be in effect from Saturday at 1:00 a.m. until Sunday at 3:00 p.m.

Holbrook: Parking ban will go into effect at 6:00 p.m. Friday night and last until 8:00 a.m. on Sunday. On street parking will not be allowed during this time period.

Lexington: Parking ban will be in effect starting at 11:59 p.m. Friday. It will last until noon on Sunday.

Ludlow: Parking ban will go into effect at midnight on Saturday and last until midnight on Monday. On street parking will not be allowed due to snow removal.

Lynn: Parking ban will go into effect at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. People can start moving their cars to designated city parking lots at 6:00 p.m. Violators could face multiple fees.

Medfield: Parking ban will go into effect at 11:00 p.m. Friday and last through Sunday until 11:00 p.m.

Natick: Snow emergency and parking ban will go into effect at 10:00 p.m. Friday night and end at noon on Sunday. Parking will be allowed in the Town Municipal Lot.

Newton: Snow emergency and parking ban will go into effect at 6:00 a.m. Saturday. Cars cannot be parked on the street, in municipal lots or school parking lots.

North Andover: Parking ban will start at midnight and stay in effect until noon on Sunday.

Pelham: Parking ban will be in effect between midnight and 7:00 a.m. as well as during snow plow operation.

Quincy: Snow emergency and parking ban will be in place starting at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Parking enforcement in business districts/restaurant areas will not start until after closing time.

Randolph: Parking ban will go into effect at 6:00 p.m. Friday night and end Monday at 6:00 p.m. Any vehicle parked on a public way or sidewalk will be subject to a ticket and tow.

Raynham: Parking ban will take effect on Friday at 6:00 p.m. and last through Sunday. On street parking will be prohibited during this time.

Revere: Snow emergency and parking ban will go into effect at 6:00 p.m. Friday. The city will offer discounted parking at the Wonderland Garage.

Saugus: Parking ban will go into effect Friday night starting at 11:00 p.m. and last until 12:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Somerville: Snow emergency will go into effect at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Cars must be moved to the odd side of the street, unless otherwise posted, by 8:00 p.m.

Tewksbury: No parking will be allowed on public streets as it could interfere with snow removal.

Watertown: Snow emergency will be effective at 10:00 p.m. Friday and will remain in effect until further notice. On street parking will be banned as well and any vehicle left on public roads will be subject to towing.

Westwood: Parking ban will be in effect from midnight to 5:00 p.m. Sunday. Vehicles will be subject to tow.

Worcester: Parking ban will be in effect at midnight. Violators will be tagged and towed for snow removal.
