Man Struck By Commuter Rail Train Dies

CHELSEA, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A man who was struck by a train on the Rockport Line in Chelsea has died.

Described only as a man in his fifties, the victim was trespassing on the right of way when he was hit by the inbound train, Transit Police say.

Police, fire, and medical units all responded to the area of Everett Avenue and Maple Street late Tuesday night for reports of a person struck by the commuter rail, and Transit Police are investigating.

Foul play is not suspected.
