The tattoo was located on the woman's rear left hip, and may resemble the Virgo astrological symbol, police say. They hope the image will help someone from the public identify the victim.

The victim is described as a black female around the age of 18 to 25, five and a half feet tall, and approximately 120 pounds.

Anyone who recognizes the tattoo or has any other information should call the Suffolk County State Police Detective Unit at (617) 727-8817.
