Police, Family Looking For Missing Manchester, NH Man

NASHUA, N.H (WBZ NewsRadio) — The family of a missing Manchester, N.H. man has traveled from Connecticut to join the search while police have been investigating circumstances in the disappearance of 29-year-old Michael A. McClain after he’s has been missing for nearly a week.

McClain was last seen early Sunday in Nashua after going out with a group of friends.

Dozens of his family and friends traveled in several cars from the Stamford, Conn area Saturday to canvas the area and spread word to the public.

Joined by relatives McClain's parents and local officials from the Nashua Chapter of the NAACP, Edward McClain and Paula Judkins are urging anyone with information to contact authorities.

"We just want him home safe," Edward McClain said to WBZ NewsRadio.

Family and friends are worried for McClain, who works with Easter Seals in Manchester.

They say it is not like him to disappear.

For Mary McClain, Michael's aunt, the disappearance of her nephew has reopened family wounds and history.

“Never thought I would see this in my life,” she said. “We have a family history where unfortunately our aunt went missing and unfortunately she did not come back to us. So this happening with my mother’s grandson brings that all back and my mother is hurting hurting, hurting. She sent me out to represent. She said: ‘I can’t go through this again...I lost my sister now it’s my grandson?'…she’s back in Connecticut she couldn’t make the trip."

The group spent hours canvassing areas where McClain was last seen.

Family said that McClain went out drinking with a group of friends on the night of Saturday April 20 at the Tropical Lounge on West Hollis Street in Nashua.

When the bar closed, McClain and his friends got separated. McClain was left behind without a ride.

His roommate and best friend Benjamin Harris wasn’t with him that night, but says McClain never made it home.

“You know I want him found and brought home” he said. “We would like to just know where he is …any type of tips…I know people saw him he’s very popular. Someone knows something.”

According to the McClain Family witnesses say they last saw Michael at the Nashua McDonald’s on E. Hollis Street approximately 1/4 of a mile near the bar around 2:30 a.m. Easter Sunday.

Family and friends describe McClain as 5 feet and 10 inches tall with brown eyes but wears green contacts. He has braided hair and tattoos on his hands and arms.
