Sea Foam Spills Over Onto Nantasket Avenue In Hull

HULL, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — It might look like snow in winter, but the foamy mess covering Nantasket Avenue in Hull is sea foam.

WBZ NewsRadio's Doug Cope took these photos and video Friday as waves of sea foam spilled over from Nantasket Beach.

"I've never seen this here before, and I've lived on the South Shore for quite a long time," Cope said. "So much foam being churned up by the waves just offshore here that it's just blowing onto shore, and really, it looks like it's snowing here."

The nor'easter churning off the coast, now named subtropical storm Melissa, brought the wind and foam—and knocked out power in Hull for a time.
