Shark Spotted Near Plymouth On Independence Day

PLYMOUTH, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A beach in Plymouth was closed on Independence Day after officials confirmed a shark sighting off the coast.

According to Plymouth Harbormaster, lifeguards ordered people out of the water at White Horse Beach on Saturday afternoon following "a confirmed shark sighting."

Red flags were seen flying at nearby beached to warn residents. The shark was seen one day after a juvenile great white shark had been spotted off the coast of Dennis attacking two seals.

Experts are warning the public to be aware that more sharks are likely to be spotted along the Massachusetts coast as the waters warm.
