Metallica's James Hetfield Makes Acting Debut In New Ted Bundy Movie

True crime and rock fans, this might be a match made in heaven. Maybe that's a bit dramatic, but we do get a look at James Hetfield's acting chops in the trailer for upcoming, Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil And Vile film about infamous serial killer, Ted Bundy.

While this isn't his first foray into film (he has played himself in various productions), Hetfield takes on his first dramatic role as officer Bob Hayward-- the Utah Highway Patrol trooper who stumbled upon a suspicious Volkswagen Beetle that happened to be carrying one of the most notorious killers in America history. Among the items found while searching the car: pantyhose, a ski mask, a crowbar, an ice pick, and handcuffs. A murder starter kit.

This will mark the second time Hetfield has worked with Academy Award nominated director, Joe Berlinger. Berlinger co-directed and co-produced the 2004 Metallica: Some Kind Of Monster documentary with the late Bruce Sinofsky. In 2014, he co-wrote the book, Metallica: The Monster Lives about his experience working with the band.

Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile stars Zac Efron, Lily Collins, John Malkovich, and Jim Parsons. No release date has been announced.

I'm sure it's killer.

Update: This month marks the 30th anniversary of Ted Bundy's execution at the Florida State Prison. in Bradford County, Florida -- on January 24, 1989. He was 42.
