Pink Floyd LIVE AT KNEBWORTH 1990 will be released for the first time on CD, double vinyl and digital platforms on Friday 30th April 2021. The concert was part of the star-studded 1990 Silver Clef Winners performance at Knebworth House, Hertfordshire, headlined by Pink Floyd. The lineup included a who's who list of A-level performers: Robert Plant (with Jimmy Page), Paul McCartney, Dire Straits, Eric Clapton, Genesis, Phil Collins, and Tears For Fears. Around 120,000 music fans witnessed the spectacular event, which benefitted the Nordoff Robbins charity, a well-known music therapy organization in England.
This is the version of Pink Floyd that carried on in the wake of Roger Waters departure: David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright with their supporting stage members including Guy Pratt, Jon Carin, Tim Renwick, and Gary Wallis. For the Knebworth show in June 1990, Pink Floyd also welcomed some guest players including saxophonist Candy Dulfer and keyboardist and composer/arranger Michael Kamen. This concert followed Floyd's massively-successful two-year world tour to support the studio album A MOMENTARY LAPSE OF REASON, although only one song ("Sorrow") from that album is featured in the set.
David Gilmour and Andy Jackson remixed the audio from the concert featuring all seven tracks performed in Pink Floyd's set, including a ten-minute version of "Shine On You Crazy Diamond." The new album features artwork shot by Floyd collaborator Aubrey 'Po' Powell of Hipgnosis, Floyd's longtime album cover visionaries. The package was designed by Peter Curzon of Storm Studios.
