“The Warriors” Came Out “To Play-aaay” 40 Years Ago

In the near future, a charismatic leader summons the street gangs of New York City in a bid to take it over. When he is killed, The Warriors are falsely blamed and now must fight their way home while every other gang is hunting them down from Coney Island to the Bronx.

The Furies, The Boppers, The Hi-Hats, The Lizzies, The Turnbull AC's, The Gramercy Riffs, they’re all out to get The Warriors. “Can you dig it?”

Not a blockbuster when it came out and blamed for inciting violence around the country, “The Warriors” is a cult classic that just doesn’t show up on cable enough. And it’s where that cool Joe Walsh song came from, “In The City.”
