Just eight weeks after starting their inaugural season, the Alliance of American Football (The AAF) has announced they are ceasing operations immediately, according to Darren Rovell. Carolina Hurricanes owner Tom Dundon bought a majority stake in the league with a commitment of $250 million in mid February. Allegedly, he was funding the league from week to week, and stands to lose $70 million! At the center of the AAF's uncertain future are the negotiations between the league and the NFL Players Association over the use of NFL practice squad players. Last week, Dundon said that if a deal could not be reached between the two sides, he would examine all options, including dissolving the league.
