The New York Yankees take on the Washington Nationals to open the bizarre 2020 baseball season in an empty stadium. So it being the year of the pandemic, the Nats turned to the foremost infectious disease expert to throw out the ceremonial first pitch.
Dr. Anthony Fauci is a huge Nationals fan, so this had to be a dream come true. Now keep in mind, he's 79 years old, he has a mask on, and he probably didn't have time to warm up his fastball.
So how did he do? Let's just say that somewhere, 50 Cent and Baba Booey breathe a sigh of relief..
And here's the pitch...
