Watch! Ferry Saves 4 Year Old Girl On Inflatable Unicorn A Mile Out To Sea

Via greekcitytimes.com. As a father, this video freaks me out. A 4 year old girl was on an inflatable unicorn when it was swept out to sea off the Greek town of Antirrio in the Gulf of Corith on Monday. When the parents realized that their little daughter was out of sight, they informed the port authorities who alerted the captain of the local ferry “Salaminomachos.”

Grigoris Karnesis, the captain of the ferry, told greekcitytimes.com, “I was approaching the port of Antirrio and I was notified by the Port Authority that a child, who I did not expect to be so small, had been swept away by the currents on a nearby beach." The crew said she was crying but didn't speak. They were making faces and jokes to try to calm her down.

The captain said, "She was frozen from her fear, because the current was very strong. I put the ship in such a position so as not to affect the small buoy, I placed it in such a way that the ship was not affected by ripples, because if the buoy sank we would have serious problems. We approached it slowly and we were able to rescue the child."

My God, she looks so tiny out there! But look how the captain maneuvers the ship perfectly to pick her up.
