Woman Offers to Trade Car for Necco Wafers

Via UPI   Recent reports claim that your friendly neighborhood Necco Wafer candy could be going under. Sadly 395 workers could end up laid off by May if the company, New England Confectionary Co., can't find a buyer. Necco's are legendary not only in Boston but around the Country. They've been in business since 1847!  One Massachusetts transplant, Katie Samuels, 23, (now a Florida resident) has been enjoying the candy since childhood, tried to make a desperate last ditch deal with Candystore.com.

"I offered to trade my 2003 Honda Accord for all of their stock," she told the Boston Globe. "I knew it was kind of a silly thing to say, but I'm serious. I don't have much right now, so I was like, 'I've got this car, and I want all that candy, so maybe they would consider it.'"

As it turns out, the supplier turned her down, but she was able to buy 48 rolls of those colorful discs.
