Chris Robinson debuts new Band in NY

Chris Robinson

from UCR   Call it scratching an itch, or just wanting to revisit the roots of his own success. Chris Robinson debuted his brand new band As the Crowe Flies last night at the ‬Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, N.Y. The set featured two hours of non-‪stop rock 'n' roll.  Most of which was a return to his Black Crowes roots along with guitarist Audley Freed. Robinson told Ultimate Classic Rock:  "“‬I’m not out to redo the Black Crowes or outdo the Black Crowes or anything like that. I just want to sing the music.”

Outside of a handful of tour dates this Spring, there's not telling how long these Crowes will actually fly. No Boston-area dates to speak of as yet. Here's some footage of "Wiser Time" and the Set List (below it ) from last night's gig:

As the Crow Flies, 4/17/18: ‪“Remedy”‬‪“Sting Me”‬‪“Twice As Hard”‬‪“By Your Side”“I Can’t Stand the Rain” (Ann Peebles cover)‬‪“Nonfiction”‬‪“Good Friday” / “Almost Cut My Hair” (Crosby, Stills and Nash cover)‬‪“Wiser Time”‬‪“She Talks to Angels”‬‪“Thorn In My Pride”‬‪“My Morning Song”‬‪“Jealous Again”‬‪“Hard to Handle” / “Hush” (Otis Redding cover / Joe South cover)‬‪“I’d Love to Change the World” (Ten Years After cover)‬
