As a condiment aficionado myself, I found this article from THE KITCHN rather intriguing. Despite the fact that the door on my home fridge has nearly 2-dozen different condiments at any given time, I'm always on the lookout for new ways to get saucy. Apparently customers of Momofuku Noodle Bar in Manhattan have been going crazy for this SSam sauce for over a decade. Chef and owner David Chang has become a food celebrity of sorts along the way. It's described as a combination of Gochujang, a Korean chili paste, along with miso, sake, soy sauce, and rice vinegar. Some are saying it will become more popular than the great Sriracha boom of the mid-2000's.
Now with production and distribution help from food-giant Kraft, it will be available at Amazon.com, Whole Foods and more retail spots in the original flavor and new spicy and smoky versions.
