R-Rated Puppet Movie Set For Summer Release

From the pages of BloodyDisgusting   comes this movie preview The Happytime Murders. This Horror-Comedy is directed by Brian Henson, son of the famed puppeteer, Jim Henson. It stars Melissa McCarthy as a Detective along with a puppet sidekick forced to work together to figure out who is brutally murdering the former cast of The Happytime Gang, a beloved, classic puppet show. From all accounts following a viewing at Las Vegas CinemaCon, it takes place in the seedy underbelly of L.A. where puppets walk amongst their human counterparts and act just as naughty and raunchy. Collider.com contributor Steve Weintraub says: “It ended with something as filthy as I’ve ever seen in a red band trailer and I loved every second of it.”

The film has been in (and out) of Production for nearly 10 years and will finally see a release of August 17, 2018. Set to co- star Elizabeth Banks, Joel McHale and Maya Rudolph, with Mitch Silpa (Bridesmaids) and Ryan Gaul (Identity Thief).
