Looking Back at the Late Ronnie James Dio

Heaven & Hell Play Melbourne

Hard to believe its been eight years since Ronnie James Dio left this Planet. The pioneering, powerhouse vocalist of Elf, Rainbow, Black Sabbath, Heaven and Hell and his own band Dio, of course, passed away from stomach cancer on May 16th, 2010. He left such a legacy behind and his contributions to metal and hard rock will live on in those he has and continues to influence. Dio even has New England connections too. He was born in Portsmouth, NH.  A charity was set up to help those afflicted and you can learn more at  The Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer FundAs their Misison statement says: it is dedicated to support research and education that furthers early detection, prevention and treatment of prostate, colon and stomach cancers.
