via Forgotten Guitar I love this site. Once again they knock it out of the park for Throwback Thursday. Here's some found footage of the "Wizard of the Strings", Roy Smeck form the 1930's. It may be the earliest film of some mind-bending and innovative techniques that wouldn't appear until decades later by various Country/Bluegrass pickers and most-famously, Edward Van Halen in the '70's. The latter's mastery of the two-hand tapping, percussive sounds and more appear to be on full display by Mr. Smeck. See for yourself.
