A $17 Whiskey Just Took Gold for Best in the World

via Esquire   The Spirits Business Masters Awards were handed out recently in Canary Wharf, London, to take part in a blind tasting where the world's best i 19 different categories were pitted against one another for Global Spirit Supremacy. Who would've guessed that a $17-dollar Highland Black Scotch Whisky under the Aldi Supermarkets label took home the Gold? Their $23, Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky also snagged a Gold in it's respective category.  As the article says it was the aim of the judges this year to make sure all regions, varieties, ages and prices were assessed on the quality of the liquid alone.  You can learn more and see the full list of Whiskey Winners HERE
