via paulmccartney.com Well, with the resurgence of vinyl in the last few years, you had to know THIS was coming. Sir Paul McCartney's 18th solo studio album Egypt Station was released last week on Capitol Records. along with the usual formats like CD,vinyl and digital, the former Beatle is releasing the new album on cassette. Yes.....cassette! You can order it HERE (where you'll also get it in digital form as well)
On his official website , he talks about the inspiration for his latest effort: "I liked the words 'Egypt Station.' It reminded me of the 'album' albums we used to make... 'Egypt Station' starts off at the station on the first song and then each song is like a different station. So it gave us some idea to base all the songs around that. I think of it as a dream location that the music emanates from."
Oh, and don't forget Macca fans: we've got an exclusive Secret Sessions performance airing right here on WZLX tomorrow night (Friday, September 14) at 7 pm.. EST. This special, recorded live as it happened last week at Grand Central in NYC, features songs from the new album, WIngs and of course, the Fab Four.
