via travelandlesisure.com Just think, perfect ski conditions year round, and you never have to go outside. In 2005 Dubai business tycoon, Majid Al Futtaim opened Ski Dubai, the Middle East's first indoor ski slope . Then last year in Northeast China, the Harbin Wanda Indoor Ski and Winter Sports Resort opened. Apparently the demand is there for indoor skiing in the far east. The Wintastar is under construction and slated to open in 2022 The project is being overseen by Al Futtaim and the same team that opened Dubai, only Wintastar Shanghai will be about 3x larger. The multi-billion-dollar project will boast 1 million square feet of trails, hotels and dining options. Skiers/Boarders will get to rip it up on three different slopes with one being hailed as "the "Olympic standard for training".
