Def Leppard Make History On 3 Continents 10/23/95

via deflepparduk.com    In an effort to promote their new best of package The Vault Greatest HIts 1980-1995, Def Leppard took on a rather arduous task on this date. They successfully coordinated performing three different concerts on three different Continents within 24 hours.

The band held a contest for fans and media to join them on their chartered plane October 23, 1995. They started their globe-trotting in Tangier, Morocco (Africa) inside a cave at the stroke of Midnight. From there they flew to London, England (U.K.) and finally finished the historic feat in Vancouver, B.C. Canada (N. America). Each show featured an acoustic set lasting about 45 minutes.

By the end of their trek, they earned a place in Rock History and a spot in the Guinness Book Of World Records. A record that, to date,  still stands.
