Aerosmith's First, Live Gig: 11/6/70 Mendon,MA.

via aerosmith.com      First things first: Yes, I KNOW the video above is from four years later when they appeared on "The Midnight Special". Unfortunately no film or video exists (that we know of) from Aerosmith's live debut. However,  Ultimate Classic Rock has dug up a photo of that night. The official launch of the band took place at Nipmuc Regional High School in Mendon, Mass. (That school is known today as Miscoe HIll Middle School) Joe Perry's mother worked at a nearby school and knew somebody that worked there to help set up the gig.

A few things of note from that first gig: Steven Tyler was 22 years old, while Joe was just 20. Ray Tabano played rhythm guitar (Brad Whitford would replace him about a year later). Tickets for the show cost $1.00 and according to legend, Tyler grabbed a school shirt from the locker room and wore it onstage.
