via theverge.com This new gadget is straight out of The Jetsons (almost). Drinkworks by Keurig has taken the coffee pod concept to the next level. These pre-loaded alcohol-filled pods pop in the machine where they're turned into the perfect mixed cocktail. It also pairs with a companion iOS app over Bluetooth to tell users what the machine is doing, enable pod refill orders, and troubleshoot.
There will be 15 drink varieties to start including Moscow Mule, margarita, mojito, Old Fashioned and Long Island iced tea. The smart technology pods each have a unique barcode so the machine can determine the appropriate temperature and carbonation. That said, Drinkworks will be able to brew beer as well and will launch with Beck’s pods and Bass pods, as well as cider from Stella Artois Cider.
Although this auto-bartender will launch November 19th exclusively in St. Louis, Missouri at first, They'll be available to preorder online through Drinkworks’ website or at select physical retailers, like all Total Wine & More locations. Estimated retail price: $299
