via abcnewsradioonline As many of you collectors out there know, Jimi Hendrix has already been memorialized in Postage Stamp-form a few years ago. Now the area branch outside Hendrix' hometown near Seattle is taking their tribute a (giant) step further.
Local officials unanimously passed a bill changing the name of the Renton Highlands Post Office to the James Marshall "Jimi" Hendrix Post Office. The bill was supported by 2 State Senators and sponsored by Adam Smith, a Democratic Congressman from Bellevue, Washington who said:
"This designation will further celebrate Hendrix's deep connection to the Puget Sound region and help ensure that his creative legacy will be remembered by our community and inspire future generations."
I wonder if people go there to wait in line just to hear the music........
